Directed by the legendary Mike Newell and starring Lily James and Michiel Huisman, the film follows the story of a free-spirited journalist who forms a life-changing bond with the eccentric Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society; a book club that united islanders through literature when German soldiers controlled Guernsey. Ahead of the film release, literary fanatics and film buffs can experience the Guernsey depicted in the novel and the film on themed tours that encompass locations featured in the story.

The film is expected to be released on 20th April 2018.

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society Break

Our package includes a half day tour of the island where you learn about the main locations featured in the book. These tours take place on 3 dates in 2018 - Wednesday 22nd August, Sunday 23rd September and Saturday 20th October. You will also receive a 2 day bus pass so you can spend time exploring Guernsey at your leisure visiting other locations from the book.

Follow in the footsteps of the film’s characters at one of the many attractions or island beauty spots that bring the story to life through the island’s poignant history.

Why not visit Castle Cornet which has guarded St. Peter Port Harbour for 800 years and includes five museums and four period gardens. Try to be there for the Noon Day Gun Ceremony, a tradition that dates back to the 19th century.

A visit to the Guernsey Museum located in Candie Gardens is a must and will appeal to both individuals and families.

Hop on a bus and visit some of the other locations such as Le Grande Havre, Fort Saumarez, Saumarez Manor and the German Occupation Museum.

The tour will be booked and bus pass will be sent to the relevant hotel prior to arrival.
